Really?

Ok, really? 2 MONTHS? Sorry I haven't been a better blogger lately! I have lots to catch up on! First, we'll start with a few pictures that are obviously now out-of-date. I look much, much larger now... :)

We have been crazy busy with getting everything ready! My sister and I spent part of the Christmas break painting the nursery (no, I haven't taken pictures of it yet! It's not quite finished!). I've also been cleaning out the closet in there so I can hang up the TONS of clothes Miss D already has!

We had a great Christmas and spent time with both of our families. I do have a few pictures to post from Christmas day but, they are still on my camera. I'll get it together at some point...I hope!

Introducing.......

Little...

         MISS Baby D!

    You read that right! We are having a girl! Ok, so I know I've been a bad blogger and haven't updated sooner...but we found out on Thursday that we will be having a girl! My mom was out-of-town but my dad was able to go with Shane and me to check everything out. I had made sure to eat something with sugar so the baby was awake and we could make sure to find out what it was. Well, as soon as he put the sonogram wand-thingy (technical-term, I'm sure) on, he said, "You did want to know what it is, right?" And I said, "YES!" He said, "It's a girl!" It was exactly the right spot! He measured everything and checked her heart and spine. Everything looks really good and he said that I'm measuring for a mid-March delivery! Right now, she weighs 12 oz. He said he can't be really sure but that she will probably be 6 3/4lbs. I'm ok with that! 
I have started looking at bedding and colors for the room but haven't made any decisions yet. And we're still working on a name for her! So for now, she's just Baby D!         
              

Boy or Girl?

I have added a poll to the right side of the blog. What do you think Baby D will be? Here are some things about my pregnancy:

• I had pretty bad morning sickness during the first trimester
• I could not stand anything sweet during the first trimester
• Now, I could eat chocolate all day!
• I do crave sour things
• I used to crave fruits and veggies during the first trimester. Now, not so much...
• The chinese calendar says girl
• The heartbeat has always been in the 140's

So, what do you think? I have my sonogram scheduled for 10/29! I'll post the night before and let you know what I think it is :)

Belly pic

Ok, so I am finally posting a belly pic! I haven't really been showing too much so that's why I haven't posted one yet. But I can definitely tell you that my pants haven't buttoned in about 3 months! Ha! I finally ordered maternity pants. They are hard to find in long lengths! I have some capris that I can still fit in to but it's getting colder and I won't be able to wear them for too much longer!
Yesterday, I was 18 weeks. We go on Oct. 29th to find out what we're having! The heartbeat has been in the 140's since I've been going to the doctor. We haven't started discussing names yet. Shane wants to wait and see what we're having first before we start arguing, ahem, I mean deciding on a name.
I finally started feeling better at about 14 weeks. I still have a few days out of the week that I'm exhausted. But, I did add another school to my caseload at work and I barely get a lunch break during the day!
The past few days, I've been so hungry! And I can't seem to get full! Poor Shane has had to eat by himself when he gets home from work because I just can't wait that long! And my kids are getting used to seeing me eating a lot at school. :) During the first trimester, I craved fruits and veggies and couldn't stand the thought of chocolate! Now, I love chocolate again! So I'm having to try really hard to eat healthy.

I'll give you a hint...they don't even like football! So, now you know that it's not me! Shane's team from work won a contest last month and they all got to ride in a stretch limo to the Cowboys' history-making season opener! Jealous? well, DUH! I would KILL to go to a cowboys game even if it wasn't a season opener, in a brand-new, billion dollar stadium! Oh well, he'll have to take me later :)

Bad blogger...

Ok, so I know I've been a very bad blogger...but we do have some news at our house! This is what we found out on July 11th...

Here we are celebrating at The Beehive later that night. We'll be expecting our newest family member March 16th!
